Hi,I bought a german VW Karmann 1968. Unfortunately i'm missing the paperwork. I only have an invoice + birth certificate from this car. Anyone can help me or knows what to do? Thanks

Hi Ronaldo,to register the car in Belgium you need the original title. The titles here in Germany are bonded to the Vehicle Identification Number.So if you get papers from a same car it's useless for you because the VIN is different.Here in Germany we handle that kind of case with a "in lieu of an oath". You just declare were and when the papers got missing. Weeks later a new title will be issued.This is the law in Germany. It might be different in Belgium. Why do you not simply ask the Office of Registration?Kind regards.

In Belgium it's not that simple. You need to start a heavy procedure to get something simular.

Where was the car registered before? In Germany? Or in Belgium?If in Germany you could try to register it first again here and than export officialy to Belgium. You need a German address to do so.Or let a German friend do that for you.Regards

Hi Ronaldo!Maybe it´s the same in Belgium, I don´t know: If you have no original papers in Austria you can get new papers from every general importer. To get this you only need to send a document of compliance and the VIN-number of the car (here in Austria the motor-number, too).Hope, it helpsAndrea
