PV544 (Bj1963) komisches Surren hinten, wenn ich vom Gas geh

Hallo zusammen,

Habe einen herrlichen PV544 Baujahr 1963 erstanden und muss sagen dass da nicht soviel zu machen ist. Fahren, Bremsen und alles drum herum funktioniert einwandfrei. Etwas stöhrend ist nur ein komisches surren in der gegend der hinterachse wenn ich vom gas gehe ...nachdem ich wieder gas gebe geht das surren weg, nimmt aber auf das fahrverhalten keinen einfluss.
vielleicht hat jemand von euch eine idee wo ich anfangen soll

Hallo! Mein Deutsch ist solch ein Technische Theme unternehmen nicht fahig.. also auf English. In August 1967 I picked up my new Volvo 122 in Gothenberg. I drove it in Germany for a year whiloe I was a student there. I was in the plan to take the car one year older back to Gothenberg to ship to Houston by factory ship. I noted while sending the car back this way that there was a noise in the back axle or differential on leerlauf. The factory representative told me that this was the nature of ring gear and pinion engagement and was not a carrier bearing problem and I would simply get used to it and it would never be a real problem and he is correct. I drove this Volvo 200,000 miles with the noise and no breakdown was experienced. Donald

it`fine (and funny at the same time) to have an Volvo-expert overseas. As we could find out, you've been in Germany in the 60th and have had your first(?) car experiences here. Where you're located now in the states? For me and my '69 Vette it's always good to have automotive connections to the U.S. . Do you now the Volvo-1800 expert Don Thibault in the states? He might have some spare parts in his store, which aren't available any more in Germany or even in Sweden.

Lieber Tripower: Ich wohne in Russellville, Kentucky, nur 25 Meilen von der Corvette factory in Bowling Green entfernt. Ich bin Jahrgang 1934 und das macht mir mindistens zwei Generationen aelter.Mein erster Auto war ein Ford Taunus 1953 Mein zweiter Auto war ein nagelneue Volvo P.V.444 1957. Ich war Student in Deutschland 1955 und fuhr dabei ein 1934 BMW 303. 1959 Kaufte Ich ein BMW Typ 327 Mitdem sogenannte OZ-80 Zylinderkopf. Es war wahrscheinlich ex vom Wehrmacht in dass es hatte ein sehr gute Anhanger-hitch. Das war ein wunderschoene Auto ! Es tut mir wirklich leid das ich es verkaufen musste (es hatte namlich ein Loch im Zylinderkopf und das war unheilbar, mindestens, von mir unheilbar). Funfzig Jahre spaeter habe ich im Garage ein PV444 von 1953 und auch ein 1923 Packard Single Six Sedan. I've been a petrol-head all my life Gruss aus Kentucky...Donald

Nebenbei; bin Ich von Zeit zur Zeit mit Herrn Thibault in Verbindung fur Ersatzteile. Wissen Sie das in South Carolina, Charleston gibt es ein Schwedisches Special Shop der auf PV444-544 konzentriert ist? Sie waren sehr behilflich mit fast alles was Ich fur mein B4B overhaul...Einschliesslich Kolben, Ventile usw, haben musste. Jetzt benotige Ich zwei vonderne Bremstrommel. Die sind nicht irgenwo hier oder von Schweden zu finden. Donald

unless there's no problem to understand your german, I think it wouln't be a problem for the rest of the readers here, to understand your comments if they are in english.

I once had contact to Mr. Thibault when I needed a replacement for the broken wiper-switch for my '73 1800 ES. Although the price he asked was rather high, he could deliver the part. Unfortunately it arrived broken too - but I could create a functional part out of the two broken ones.

Just a question: Do you know Jerry Luck too? He is a specialist for the restauration of Holley carbs and has done some excellent jobs for me in the past.
